Chrimbo party...the date is set...

Meetings have been held, diaries consulted, negotiations commenced, research undertaken. We've brainstormed strategised and planned.

We have an objective:

"Have a Christmas Party"

We have a strategy:

"Generate interest and secure funding through the awesome power of social media"

We have tactics:

"Get on with it"

We also have a date:

Wednesday, 6th December 2006

So stick that it your diaries and remember it.

If you've been keeping up with the comments on the original post, you'll notice that Stephen "Wad" Waddington has pledged some cash for drinkies and, between you and I, we've also received a formal offer of sponsorship from a proper company! So it's all systems go.

If you want to come, make sure that you drop us an email (theworldsleading@yahoo.co.uk) because it's the only way you'll find out where it's all taking place (that's the next thing on the TWL To Do list, by the way).

Thanks to those who have been in touch already. We're excited.

That puts you head to head with the Hotwire Christmas bash, I believe.

Such is the nature of the Christmas party season, I'm afraid...

What do you mean 'Wad'? Singular? Best get there early then before the tab runs out.

He's just got the one, but we've heard it's huge.

And the Nokia party...

It is of no consequence.

What's the worst that can happen? Nobody will turn up and I'll get very, very drunk.

I've been meaning to ask this for ages TWL - when you say "we're excited", are you implying there is more than one blogger in the TWL bunker, or are you using the 'royal we'..?

I like to think of TWL as a collective; as like-minded individuals lost in the rain and brought together under one, big, piss-taking umbrella...like an army, we march forth into the battlefields of the ridiculous, to ride our tanks roughshod over the pompous, to wave our bayonets ferociously at the self-important...we won't stop until victory is ours and once again this great nation stands proud.

That and the fact that I'm a bit lonely, and using "we" makes me feel better.

It's also the night that West Ham play Wigan in the Premiership and that may be a distraction for some people...

West Ham and Wigan fans mainly, I expect. Can't see anyone else getting excited about that.....

Clive Arbitrage eh? I seem to remember baling him out some years back when one of his employees left a huge wodge of hack biographies lying around at a press gig. Mine was OK, but some of the others....
