I'm a preacher, not a practicer...

Given that I was recently trapped for hours between platforms at Green Park tube, caught in a sudden and terrifying avalanche of free newspapers, might this Response Source request be regarded as a little hypocrticial..?

PUBLICATION: Metro Newspaper
JOURNALIST: Vicki-Marie Cossar (staff)
DEADLINE: 14-May-2007 15:00
QUERY: Please consider the environment and stop sending Metro paper press releases through the post and just send e-mails to the addresses below with any information.

Any paper releases will not be looked at.

Thank you.

Of course, they might claim that Metro is printed in recycled paper...which it could be for all I know...in which case surely they'd be happy to accept the odd printed release on similar stock?

But don't forget to remind them to: "Save a tree: don't print this email unless it is absolutely necessary".

I'm seeing this tag at the bottom of a lot of emails lately, and, in an effort to be even more eco-friendly, the font is in a putrid green colour!

Bloody annoying, patronising, jumped-up silly cow.

Fine, let's save the planet, but sometimes I do wish journalists would just bugger off and shut up. They can be such annoying ponces.

Respect to some of the greats in journalism, but is it me, or are an increasing number of journos just jumped-up little pricks and prickess-es who think they're great?

years of repressed anger over continued knockbacks from journalists uninterested at bunt releases is about to flood forth...

My client has been shortlisted for the Pembrokeshire WIFi awards and you are not even going to write a NIB? Why you jumped up prick, I am going to hunt you down at the next Hacks Vs Flacks event and get all Tarrant on your Ass you ugly stained-teeth mother fucker

Do people still send press releases? You'll be telling me magazines still charge "colour seperation fees" next!?

Who still sends out paper press releases??

It doesn't exactly scream 'news'. You do have to question the mental acuity of anybody who still does that... (they probably still include a glossy mugshot of the senior VP of marketing in the envelope as well)

I remember an agency CEO asking me if I'd got the bromide of the logo sorted for the launch (in about 2003)...oh dear living in the past a little there...

i'd also like to add my tuppence on the 'we hate jumped up journos' trail (which i think has grounds for an actual campaign)

i had someone at a particularly budget london paper ask me what a charity event was last week - before promptly slamming down the phone

i mean, come ON....
